- Description
- This paper presents the design of a proposed experimental testing program of perforated unreinforced masonry (URM) walls subject to quasi-static cyclic in-plane shear loading. The primary aim of the experimental program is to obtain force-displacement relationships for URM walls with openings to be used in future research. The experimental program will consist of testing of 12 wall specimens subject to cyclic in-plane quasi-static shear loading. The 12 walls consist of three pier and spandrel geometrical configurations, two levels of precompression, and two repeats for each wall. In addition to the force-displacement relationships to be used in the nonlinear static pushover analysis, the study aims to assess wall behaviour and failure modes of URM walls with openings subject to cyclic in-plane shear loading.
